Guitarist Dan Mitchell Leaves TEN

Melodic hard rock fans have been wowed by guitarist Dan Mitchell’s playing since he first took to the stage with TEN at Fleetwoodstock. At this weekends Vasby Rock Festival in Sweden, TEN once again blew fans away with their unique blend of rock. However, Dan was notably absent from TEN’s performance this weekend, with Serpentine’s Chris Gould appearing in his stead.

Ten’s manager explained his absence in the following post on the bands website:

“TEN returned to the live arena in triumphant style last night, rocking Upplands Vasby Festival in Stockholm Sweden in a performance already being hailed as the festival highlight. The boys were in fine form.

Fans more familiar with TEN will have noticed the absence of Dan Mitchell on guitar, with Serpentine’s Chris Gould stepping in at the last minute. Dan has had a chronic wrist and lower arm problem which makes it impossible for him to play standing up without being in severe discomfort.TEN have been aware of his condition for some time and it resurfaced after TEN’s recent UK, Athens, Madrid and Firefest shows.
Dan recently decided to leave TEN as a result of this reoccurring physical problem and with immediate effect. He departs on his own volition and TEN wish him well.
Not wishing to to cancel Sweden, Chris Gould was kind enough to cover guitar duties for this one remaining show in the current diary, thus giving TEN the time and space to find a permanent replacement for the departing Dan. TEN’s thanks go to Chris for contributing to a stunning show.
TEN now begin work on their new (11th) studio album and we will advise the fans of our new choice of lead guitarist when that time comes.
Yours truly,
Jason Thanos (TEN manager)”

Ten fans worldwide will be very sad to see him go. His sizeable contribution on guitars to TEN’s triumphant tenth album “Heresy & Creed”, and and his fantastically energetic live performances will be long remembered by fans and critics alike.

Whoever Gary Hughes finds as a replacement for Dan will have some very big shoes to fill.

Everyone at Paradise Rock wishes a speedy recovery to this very talented gentleman. We’re damn sure that we haven’t seen the last of him.

Why not leave a message for Dan below to wish him well?
