Who or what is Kryptonite? Isn’t that the thing that DC comic book villains and occasionally the goddamn Batman use to fight Superman? Well, yes it is. But it’s also a band from Sweden, so let’s stay focused on that for now shall we?
Kryptonite (still the band) began when The Poodles singer Jakob Samuel met up with producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (yeah, i don’t know how he had the time either, that man never seems to stop – i can only presume he doesn’t sleep and only survives by consuming the souls of lesser producers. But everything he touch seems to be great so we can forgive a little Faustian style harvesting). Together with Serafino Perugino of Frontiers Music SRL they handpicked members for their new band. Warner Drive are an original group from Hollywood, and they’ve been working hard to grow their fan base. As a band they’ve shared the stage with groups like Ratt, Steel Panther, Papa Roach and The Killers, they’ve been touring internationally for years. “Till The Wheels Fall Off” is their forth album to date, but their previous three have had relatively low circulation.

The bands lead singer and songwriter, Gary Hughes, has also made a quite a name for himself as a solo artist with 6 albums since the late 80’s, most notably with the two rock opera albums “Once and Future King” part 1 and part 2, which revolved around the legend of King Arthur and featured a host of top guest musicians from other bands. He also wrote and produced the first three solo albums by Magnum’s lead singer Bob Catley, wrote and produced “Circle Of Knives” by fellow British band Serpentine, produced Hugo’s debut and has appeared on albums by Ayreon and Vinny Burns.
